When I opened my mail this morning, I was pleasantly suprised to find out that I have been nominated for the James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism at Hunter College in New York.



Amsterdam, Wednesday, October 29th, 2003

After seven years with NWA Worldperks / KLM Flying Dutchman this coming trip, starting Nov. 2nd, will be a milestone.  With these two airlines I travelled over a million miles looking for stories around the world.

This particular trip will take me from Amsterdam to Silicon Valley in California where I'll be meeting with people in the IT business and then on to Manilla in the Phillipines, where I'll talk to women participating in the war.  I am trying to get to the Minandao region where kidnappings have become an industry.
